We can't help but
being cool -
it's in our blood.
    Deeper, it's in our genes.

People look at us
dumbfounded muttering,
Is this a dream, is this a
dream? Details down to
    the seams,

we're so fabulous, so serene,
soaking us in is
so serene, just
    so in vogue
this time and all the time.

The pretty pictures get
their inspiration from us,
our confidence overshadowing
our penchant for
      style;
we wish we weren't
everything you ever
wanted to be for just
   an evening.

I remembered hearing the movie
stars sulk everyday
when we woke with the sunrise,
rising stars that'll
see our zenith a
few years after
    we retire,
our ivories glimmering
in the flashing cameras.
I'll turn my head
this way or that;
every angles' my good

side and we'll
just sigh.
We're just so
    cool,
we're sexy.

No moral, I know. Just a super feel-good I'm-better-than-the-world poem that has them genuinely growing tired of feeling such a way. Could be you and your bud or you and your girl/boy, so this works on a few levels.
