And I started to think, "Why don't we read as much anymore? What took it over?" And I thought all of this while listening to my iPod... and that's when the realization came to the fore; our music is our literature. Life's pace is much different than it ever was 100 years ago, and what everyone does is listen to music. And with the advent of the internet and P2P networks, we're hearing and discovering new things our mom's and pop's wouldn't have caught up with. I think music is our literature nowadays, and though you have to search for it, you can still find some amazing stuff, lyrically, out there. Oh, it's not going to replace it as a definite medium. If anything, the internet has fostered a bigger crowd of people who are budding authors in whichever field they find interest in, but it certainly is a viable alternative in terms of scope and reach, this thing, music.
What do you think?
In other news/thoughts, I have a huge back library of poems, some good, IMO, that I want to share, but don't feel that they mesh with my current style. In order to not confuse or put off anyone, what I'll do it just post them as Scrapes, so if you have Scrapes disabled for me, but want to be able to check them out, make sure you enable it. I don't know how I'll do it yet, whether I'll have it in the title or down in the comment field what year it was written, but you'll be able to see it at least. And hey, if pieces get good responses, and you dear readers feel it should be pulled out of scrapes, I'll do that, cool?
And... I'm really loving Lady Gaga lately. Absolutely aDORE her.
