So, many of you, I'm almost sure, have never heard of this little known (well, to Stateside denizens and I'll go ahead and say European and Australians, too.

) J-Pop (Japanese Pop) group called
Pizzicato Five. They were around for about fifteen years, actually starting out as a five piece, thus the "Five" in their name, though by time they actually became popular, it was just two members, a guy/girl piece. VERY good music in the style of 60's swinging jazzy French revivalist movement that took place during... well, the 60's. Very Austin Powers.
Have a listen to these songs. Yes, they're speaking in Japanese, but it won't disappoint. And they go back and forth with English a lot, anyways.

So, if you're on the up and up about anything
Apple like I happen to be, sadly, I must say, you might have heard a little something about the brand new spankin
MacBook Air , a new super thin laptop. Well, I can tell you, I'm not too excited by it. It's thin, sure, but it doesn't really DO anything newer than the other ones except maybe the whole picture zooming thing I'm sure many know from iPhones and iPod Touch's out there. $1700 to $3000 (!) for a thin laptop with NO optical drive (re: CD/DVD drive) is just silly, especially when I can get
MacBook maxed out under $1500. So, I'll pass.
And passing onto my writing! Need to pick up the pace, because I really have been slacking a lot as of late. I REALLY need to get on working on the re-edit of an ongoing book that I've been working on. It started out as a Fanfic to this
game but I just might go ahead and make it a regular story. It's really not too hard, the way I went ahead and did it. I've also been thinking about posting some of my better, older fanfics. Again, it's for games like Final Fantasy VII and VIII, but I really wrote it so anyone could read it and understand them. We'll see. I miss my prose-y days. And it seems that people would probably buy a book if I were to ever release one, which is a nice feeling. So, I'll be tinkering with that idea, as well.
So hope the world and all its madness doesn't get you good people down, fellow reader.

I hear
your voice
down the hall, through the window, above
all those trees, a light
it seems
& you are singing. What song

Funny thing about J-Pop is that it's such a broad term cause not all sounds like this, the 60's throwback. Some sounds more modern (though I guess that'll be J-R&B) and even Rock. They basically take styles that have already been done and make it sound REALLY good. Which is like, amazing to me.
SO happy you like it.
